Red Dead Redemption meets Fallout in this slick free download

If you love Red Dead Redemption and Fallout, then this free download is for you

Believe it or not, Red Dead Redemption may have more in common with the Fallout series than we may think and this free download brings both glorious worlds together as one.

Let’s look at some of the comparisons, shall we? Both Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption and Bethesda’s Fallout have huge open worlds with just about everyone and everything trying to kill you, and both have their form of mutants/monsters.

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!

What’s more, both have casinos, loads of side activities, secret locations and much more. You could also say that Red Dead Redemption and Fallout are both of the Wild West genre, each in unique ways.

Unfortunately, neither Red Dead Redemption nor Fallout have ever had an official collaboration and they likely never will. Thankfully, modders are always on the case to bring unique content to the video games we love.

A team of modders have joined forces to bring us the ‘NCR Desert Ranger - Coat - Vests - Pants’ and it does what it says on the tin, brings Fallout-inspired attire to Red Dead Redemption 2 and best of all, it’s free to download now via Nexusmods. So if you wanted to look like a Desert Ranger from Fallout: New Vegas in Red Dead Redemption 2, then this mod is for you.

Unfortunately, as with most mods, this Fallout: New Vegas-inspired mod is only available for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, and not for consoles. So for us console gamers, we’ll have to play both games as originally intended, which isn't a bad thing.

Fallout: New Vegas is playable on PC, as well as modern Xbox and PlayStation consoles, it’s also available with PlayStation Plus Premium and Xbox Game Pass. Red Dead Redemption 2 is also out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and is backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
