I’d like to think that one day, Rockstar Games will indeed announce Red Dead Redemption 3. They’d be silly not to, given how immensely successful the franchise is. For now though, we have no indication that another entry in the series is on the way.

Earlier this year, Rockstar released a port of the original Red Dead Redemption - which certainly wasn’t what fans were hoping for. They were, to state the obvious, much keener to get their hands on a full-on remake. In all honesty, we have no idea what’s next for the Red Dead franchise, presuming it does have a future. During this week’s Microsoft leaks though, it was unveiled that at one point in time, Rockstar was working on a new-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 but it’s not known whether that project is still in the works. While we await official news, one fan has made a Red Dead 3 concept trailer and honestly, Rockstar should take notes.

Take a look at some Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

The video is the work of YouTuber Unreal Concepts. In the trailer, we see a bustling wild west town, a brooding protagonist walking through the snow, and a misty shootout. It’s essentially packed with everything you’d hope to see in a rootin’ tootin’ new instalment. Unreal Concepts didn’t go into too much detail about the project, simply writing, “Imagining what Red Dead Redemption 3 in Unreal Engine 5 could look like. Enjoy!”

The trailer uses assets from a number of ArtStation creators including jama, michael_g_art, richardcourt, maartenhof, antoninmorlet, ernestoayala, and YouTuber soundslikepizza. Fans were blown away by the final result. “Amazing work,” read one comment. “Very nice,” added another.

Others speculated that a third instalment could centre around Jack Martson, son of John Marton. Hopefully one day, Rockstar will revisit the franchise.
