Red Dead Redemption 3 is going to be massive

We have no idea when the next arrival of the Red Dead Redemption series will be on the way, but that hasn't stopped fans from dreaming up cool concepts and fun ideas.

One such idea is that Red Dead Redemption 3 should have a female protagonist. After all, when you include Red Dead Revolver, it’s been a male lead in all three games so far and it could be an interesting and refreshing approach to mix it up. We don’t know when the third numbered entry will arrive, but at least publisher Take-Two Interactive has confirmed Red Dead Redemption 3 will be released one day.

Furthermore, we don't know exactly what the main locations of Red Dead Redemption 3 will be, though it’s pretty much a guarantee that it will likely include Texas and regions of Mexico. As with Rockstar Games’ other massive franchise, Grand Theft Auto, the Red Dead Redemption series has been getting bigger with each release and we’d expect the third numbered entry to be no exception.

With that in mind, a fan has gone to great detail to create a staggering map for Red Dead Redemption 3 and it’s absolutely massive. “Red Dead 4 Concept Map - A True Western,” posted RemnantHelmet on Reddit. In a nutshell, this concept map combines the map of Red Dead Redemption 2 with a massive region of Mexico. To be honest, the concept image probably wouldn't do the actual video game version justice in terms of its size. Simply put, just think Red Dead Redemption 2, roughly times three.

“This project represents what I consider to be the absolute maximum of what a new Red Dead game could look like considering realistic development time and resources. The game would be set in the true West all the way out to an analogous California during the early 1880s,” RemnantHelmet explained. “It would be almost entirely divorced from anything to do with the Van der Linde gang and would need a new subtitle instead of being called Red Dead Redemption 3.”

Whenever Red Dead Redemption 3 arrives, hopefully, it will be released sometime during this console generation, but I won't be holding my breath. Thankfully at least we can still play the current Red Dead series on current-gen consoles.
