For two very different reasons, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Stardew Valley are both beloved games but differ greatly in terms of size, budget and genre. But what if we could blend the best of both?

Released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, then the following year for PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 from GTA VI developer Rockstar Games is one of the most critically acclaimed titles of all time with a Metacritic score of 97. Red Dead Redemption 2 is praised for its immersive story and world, well-written and intriguing characters and gunslinging combat that is a delight to Wild West fans.

Then we have the indie darling that is Stardew Valley. Originally released in 2016, developed and published by ConcernedApe, Stardew Valley is the poster child for indie games praised for its chill, farm sim vibes that is still being supported by a wealth of new content to this very day and has earned a very respectable Metacritic score of 89.

However, where Red Dead Redemption 2 lacks the farming sim lifestyle, Stardew Valley lacks high-octane action but a modder has worked some wizardry and has brought the farming lifestyle to the Wild West (kind of). Enter the mod ‘SafeFarm’ created by Tainaandrei1 which is available to download now for free via Nexusmods.

The mod in question doesn't actually let you farm until your heart's content but it does give Arthur Morgan a lovely home to chill complete with a horse stable as well as enough pots and plants that it might even make a lovely member of the GAMINGbible team a little envious.

The house is located near Mattock Pond and is highlighted on the map via the Nexusmods page. That being said, there is a massive catch if you want to make this lovely home your own, and that’s having to kill the homeowner and his dog (sorry, I’m out, no dog is dying on my watch).

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now but this mod is exclusive to the PC version of the game. Stardew Valley is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
