Red Dead Redemption 2 has a huge secret area you've probably never explored

Creepy secrets lie beyond the bounds of RDR2 you weren't suppose to reach

Red Dead Redemption II is hiding a pretty huge, relatively unexplored secret area that can’t actually be reached during regular gameplay… and you gotta wonder why Rockstar Games bothered putting it there, if we were never supposed to wonder over to it in the first place.

I think it’s pretty fair to say that Red Dead Redemption II is Rockstar Games’ best work so far. Maybe some of you might disagree, but personally I think that’s a widely held opinion.

However, there is one pretty blatant fault with the game, and that’s that you’re never allowed to visit Mexico (unlike you could in the first Red Dead Redemption), even though Rockstar Games went through the effort of modelling the entire area.

Through the use of mods or out of bounds glitches, you can still visit the area though– but what’s even over there if you do?

Well, turns out, a whole lot of nothing. It’s mostly just barren, unpopulated land.

Still, there are some oddities to explore while you’re over there. Just as one user spotted on the r/creepygaming subreddit, it does seem that a lot of wildlife and standard scripted events still spawn in Mexico, which does make it feel like you are both supposed to and not supposed to actually be there.

If you are curious to see more though, I’d suggest checking out Shesez’s Boundary Break video on Red Dead Redemption II (plus, you even get to see what’s going on behind the scenes at Guarma).

Otherwise, you can always go there yourself.

If you’re on PC, it’s a simple thing to do. Download a mod that lets you spawn in Mexico, and boom– you can explore to your hearts content.

If you’re on console though, you’ll have to exploit a glitch that lets you go out of bounds instead.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll find something there that Rockstar Games hid and has yet to be discovered…
