Rockstar Games is a studio that isn’t afraid to drop a surprise announcement.
After all, Grand Theft Auto VI’s delay and updated launch date were unveiled on a random Friday, followed by the game’s long-awaited second trailer a few days later.
And I have a feeling we’re in for another imminent surprise, albeit one pertaining to Red Dead Redemption.

There’s definitely something going on.
Actor Rob Wiethoff, known for portraying John Marston, recently made a very suspicious tease whilst streaming Red Dead Redemption 2.
“I’ve got such exciting news. I can’t share it with you right now and it’s absolutely killing me, [but] by the end of this week, hopefully sooner - not this week, not as soon as tomorrow, but definitely before Friday,” he said.
“Oh my goodness, the news that I have to share, and I won’t be the only one sharing it, I cannot wait for you to know what’s going on - and that’s all I can say. I’m not tryna be … that’s the only thing I can think about [...] especially while playing this game,” he continued.

That’s not all, the voices of Charles Smith and Arthur Morgan, Noshir Dalal and Roger Clark respectively, are also being incredibly teasing.
“Do you know what the Red Dead news is Rob mentioned? You don’t have to tell me what it is, I just wanna know if [you know]?” one X/Twitter user recently asked.
“Yes,” replied Clark with a gif of a smirking dog.
Dalal joined in with a gif of a smug Jason Momoa.

What does it all mean? Well, leaker NateTheHate recently claimed that a new-gen update for Red Dead Redemption 2 was in the works.
They claimed that it would bring 60fps to the game and would launch later this year.
You’ve got to admit, all of these teases from the game’s cast are certainly making the leak look pretty legit.
But fans remain split over what’s coming, with some believing that even hoping for a new-gen update might be too optimistic a wish.

“I'd be amazed if it wasn't a convention panel or something. Rockstar wouldn't even let them follow each other on SM when filming RDR2, their NDA's are airtight,” wrote Reddit user Telos1807.
“Fortnite Red Dead skins,” predicted Sklain.
“Honestly, I don't think it's worth getting excited. It might just end up being an indie event or project between them. But I don't think Rockstar is making any announcements this week,” added Curmi3091.
I’m torn because on one hand, the new-gen port feels likely but on the other, I do find it hard to believe that Rockstar would allow the actors to tease it this much.

Let’s hope answers arrive soon to save us from our speculation.
