Red Dead Redemption 2 has inspired so many creators since it dropped over half a decade ago, but this is seriously impressive.
Rockstar Games put together an open-world that’s truly special, and while much of it was seen in Red Dead Redemption the visual overhaul and expanded boundaries made for an adventure like no other.
One iconic location found in Red Dead Redemption 2 is called Blackwater, and in an act of skill, determination and sheer will a fan has recreated the city in Minecraft, in its entirety.
Reddit user GeneralGeneral5302 posted their work online with some screenshots of the monumental project, and as you can imagine Red Dead Redemption fans were thoroughly impressed. Hopefully Rockstar Games sees this too as I’m sure some of the developers would get a kick out of it.

For a game that’s entirely made of blocks the attention to detail is stunning with the various buildings, foliage and more all looking exactly like they do in Rockstar’s game.
Slap on a cowboy skin and install a mod that turns villagers into Wild West inhabitants and you’d have a living, breathing Blackwater in Minecraft, insane.
Fans rallied to congratulate GeneralGeneral5302 on their accomplishment, whilst also poking fun at the player’s commitment to the project.
“Still haven't seen Blackwater in RDR2, but this is impressive” read one of the comments with another adding “Dope! Are you ok though?”

Another comment teased “Now do the rest of the map”, and while I wouldn’t want GeneralGeneral5302 to push themselves I kind of want to see what that would look like now…
“Gonna pile on with the compliments and say this looks absolutely amazing!” said one more comment.
It truly is remarkable and a testament to the creativity of the gaming community, who’d have thought a game as visually complex as Red Dead Redemption 2 would look this good in Minecraft?
While Red Dead Redemption 2 is impressive we all know it’ll have nothing on GTA VI, with Rockstar’s next game launching next May 2026.

It’s going to be a blast seeing Vice City again so many years after its last appearance, in addition to exploring all the new locations that make up Leonida.
That said once the game has been out for a few months and we’ve all had our fun I bet creators like GeneralGeneral5302 will be rushing to recreate that game in Minecraft as well, starting with Vice City before moving on to the game’s other iconic locations.
