Red Dead Redemption 2 mod adds feature we should have had at launch

Red Dead Redemption 2 mod adds feature we should have had at launch

This should have always been an option

Until now, in Red Dead Redemption 2, man’s best friend was a horse. Your trusty steed would accompany you and take you where you needed to be. But, it’s not the same as having a trustful doggo at your side. With this update, you’ll be able to have a pooch who will follow you everywhere and make the world a better place.

This should really have been a feature in the game from the off, but it seems that Rockstar Games didn’t want us to constantly stop in our adventure to check how our dog was doing. This simple mod describes itself plainly, “A cowboy without a horse is not a cowboy. But if you ever wondered how it'd be to play RDR2 with a personal dog, this mod is for you.”

Without this mod it'll just be horse companions for you in Red Dead Redemption 2

Now you can wander the Wild West with a dog in tow and he’s obviously the goodest of boys. Of course, you have to tame one first and you can do this by approaching the dog, petting it, and bonding with it.

It’s not just for show, your dog will help you hunt, you can also command it to attack NPCs and enemies. The little canine has its own health bar which must be topped up by feeding it hunted prey, you can even use the dog to track an animal.

There are several prompts to make the dog sit, or follow you, and you can bring it to heel by whistling. The mod has over 81,000 downloads and seems to be very popular - I mean, who wouldn’t want a cute dog by their side? We’d now like Rockstar Games to take note in preparation for Red Dead Redemption 3 because this is a must-have now, please, and thank you.
