There’s nothing quite like that feeling when you know you’re experiencing something very special. There are plenty of incredible games out there, but some manage to go beyond being incredible. I’m talking about the moment that you play a mission or level and you just know that it’s going to go down as one of the most iconic in gaming history.

There’s Rainbow Road in Super Mario Kart, All Ghillied Up in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Suicide Mission in Mass Effect 2, Warthog Run in Halo 3, The Battle of Kaer Morhen in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, or The Last of Us Part I’s memorable prologue. Even if you haven’t played the aforementioned levels, you’ve probably got some idea of what they entail. I fully expect Alan Wake 2’s musical level to join those aforementioned missions as a modern classic, but that’s not the game I’m here to talk about today. I couldn’t reel off iconic missions without mentioning Red Dead Redemption 2’s Braithwaite Manor sequence.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

To this day, Red Dead Redemption 2 fans consider the Braithwaite Manor sequence to be one of the coolest to ever exist in gaming. For the uninitiated, the level - titled Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern - sees the Van Der Linde gang launch an assault on Braithwaite Mandor after learning that Catherine Braithwaite had kidnapped the young Jack Marston. It undeniably features one of the best shots in the game, something fans gathered to discuss on Reddit.

User ModXMaG wrote, “I have been playing games for 10 years in my short lil life and this is probably the coolest thing I have seen in a game,” garnering over 5,500 upvotes. Loccyskillz added, “This moment made me wonder that the people that called this game boring, did they even play the game all the way through? This is an iconic moment.”

“This game sets such an awesome atmosphere. It is an absolute masterpiece,” commented JanJaapen. What’s your personal favourite mission? I must admit, I can’t forget the first time I encountered The Last of Us Part II’s Rat King in Ground Zero. Chills.
