'Red Dead Online' Fans Convinced Rockstar Is Pranking Them With Bad Updates

That's not very rootin' tootin'

Red Dead Online fans are mad as hell, and they aren't going to take it anymore.

At the start of 2022, Red Dead Online players rose up in protest of the game's lacklustre updates, demanding Rockstar Games "save" the online Western before it's too late. While I don't play the game myself, it has been hard seeing Rockstar do next to nothing with such a beautiful, massive open world. Simply put, there should be more to Red Dead Online than there currently is. Much more.

Take a look at some of the best Red Dead wins and fails below!

Fast forward several months, and... nothing has changed. Red Dead Online updates are still dryer than a lost boot in the desert, and fans are still fuming about it.

The online Western's latest update (released May 3) did very little to change people's minds about the state of the game. As announced by Rockstar on social media, the new Red Dead Online update introduces bonuses on horse races. For a limited time. That's it.

Needless to say, the reaction from fans who have already been pushed to the limit has not been a positive one.

"Rockstar is intentionally trolling the Red Dead Online community," notable Rockstar Games community member Videotech responded." I don't get why they're doing all they can to kill the community and the game to put the spotlight on GTA Online at all times. Red Dead Online is a missed opportunity."

"It really looks like you purposely trolling community," added the beautifully named OnlyPVPCat.

"You could have started something special with Red Dead Online, but no, instead, you can't be bothered to update it anymore, it's honestly sad, and that's coming from someone who doesn't play online games normally," another fan chimed in."As it stands, the story mode is WAY better in my opinion."

It's true that nobody can take away the incredible experience that is Red Dead Redemption 2, arguably one of the greatest single-player games ever made. But if Rockstar put half the effort into Red Dead Online that it did GTA Online, we could have something really special. As it stands, we can only ever dream about what might have been.
