Red Dead Redemption 2 is the game with countless secret details, to the point where even nearly eight years after release we’re still finding new content in the game.
It seems that Rockstar Games has truly thought of everything when it comes to this game, as evidenced by the amount of times I’ve gone “wait, you could do that?!” while playing.
This detail, as spotted by one Red Dead Redemption 2 player on X (formerly Twitter) similarly is one of those things that a lot of players may not even notice, but is still appreciated nonetheless.
As shared by user GTASixJoker, a cutscene that begins the Red Dead Redemption 2 mission “The Joys of Civilization” has Dutch jokingly pull a revolver on Arthur from behind.

Although Dutch is just kidding around, GTASixJoker noticed a small detail that changes in the cutscene depending on Arthur’s current honour level.
“In Red Dead Redemption 2, cutscenes can change depending on Arthur's honor level,” writes the user. “On this mission, Dutch will approach Arthur with his gun cocked if the player has low honor, but if you have high honor, he takes his finger off the trigger. This game never fails to impress me.”

Your Red Dead Redemption 2 Honour Level Can Affect Many Things
There are a few details in Red Dead Redemption 2 that change depending on Arthur’s honour level. For example, the way NPCs react to him can change if he has high or low honor.

Some of the comments agreed with the original poster as to the dedication Rockstar has to put a detail like this in the game.
“There are probably like 5 people in the world who would notice something like this while playing yet they still put in the game hundreds of details like this. Rockstar is insane,” writes one user.
But while a lot of people seem to be in agreement that this is another example of Rockstar’s excellent attention to detail, one fan in particular pointed out that this may actually be an unintended bug.

"That specific interaction—where Dutch points a gun at Arthur during a prank in "The Joys of Civilization"—is actually one of the most debated "hidden details" in the community," they wrote.
"While Red Dead Redemption 2 is famous for its massive reactivity, recent frame-by-frame debunks from players suggest that the Dutch gun-cocking animation might be more of a glitch or mission replay artifact than a deliberate honor-based detail."
Real? Fake? The debate seems to still be going on.
The fact that we’re discussing it all at least proves we’re able to believe Rockstar is capable of something like this, which I wouldn’t put past it.
