Grand Theft Auto, as the title implies, is all about crime. There’s a staggering number of crimes to commit in each game and every new entry pushes the boundaries of what is and isn’t acceptable in a video game (we’re looking at you Grand Theft Auto V torture minigame).
Below you’ll find a selection of crimes you can commit in GTA V, which will probably return in Grand Theft Auto VI, ranked from minor disturbances to lifetime sentences.

When you’re not tearing through the streets of Los Santos you’ll find one of the simplest, and funniest, crimes you can commit is just being a bit of a nuisance.
Walking up to any police officer in the game and bumping into them will see them get a little agitated, but nothing more. Do it a couple more times however and you’ll get a wanted level, usually resulting in a swift execution.
Several areas in GTA V are off-limits to the player. The military base and airport come to mind straight away and logically speaking, yes, you would in fact be arrested for strolling into one of these places in real life.

Breaking into Los Santos golf course will also net you a wanted level however. You literally get gunned down just for stepping on the wrong lawn.
You don’t need to steal a car to capture the attention of the authorities. Driving around a beaten up wreck is perfectly fine, but drive past police with all of your tires popped they’ll quickly start to pursue.
We have no idea why this bothers them so much, but we can only assume that the lack of control you have over your vehicle is what sets them off.
You won't get a wanted level for this, but in real-life prostitution is illegal in many parts of the world. In GTA V you can pay a visit to the local strip club, but if that's not enough you'll find plenty of nighttime wanderers to spend your evening with.
We don't know what kind of explicit activities you'll be able to get up to in GTA VI, but randy fans are already speculating. They're also wondering how such actions would alter the relationship between Jason and Lucia.
Do we really need to explain this one?
If GTA VI has another torture sequence we’d be very surprise. GTA V caught a lot of flack for letting Trevor torture someone for information, to the point it even made it to national news channels.
Something about it just felt a little too personal, even if the media blew it out of proportion a tad.
When a Grand Theft Auto player is bored their first impulse is to often start a scrap with someone.
This simple act of violence can often cascade in a full-scale rampage, as armoured police descend on your location to send you to an early grave.
It’s become a challenge amongst players to see how long they can survive the onslaught, and how many NPCs they can take with them before they’re eventually overrun.
Going on a mindless killing spree is pretty messed up, but at least you don’t have to engage your victims in conversation first.
One of Trevor’s side-missions in GTA V has you transport unsuspecting people to the nudist colony up in the hills, who also happen to be cannibals.
The people you take up will question the peculiar dirt roads you’re taking until you eventually arrive at the camp to hand over your bounty. It’s wild.
This is without a doubt the worst crime you can commit in GTA V, and it’ll probably be even more severe in GTA VI.
It’s a quick and unsatisfying shortcut to the best weapons, vehicles, and properties in GTA: Online, and while you won’t get a wanted level for doing it, you will be frowned upon by the majority of players.
Rockstar Games is yet to show off the next iteration of GTA: Online, but we’re expecting it to be heavily monetised given how successful the first one was.
