Pokémon Legends: Z-A was generally pretty well received across the board, even though some gripes prevented from achieving the hard to achieve status of one of the best games in the series.
As such, it's little surprise that they're planning to actively develop and support the game for a while longer yet. Which brings us to today's announcement that the Mega Dimension DLC is set launch on both the Switch and Switch 2 on 10 December, just in time for Christmas.
Now, obviously the existence of the DLC has been known for some time, but the release is pretty swift and should breathe fresh life into a game that hasn't really had the chance to die off yet.
It also promises to be one of the more out there concepts we've seen in a Pokémon release of any kind, so here's everything you need to know about what it holds.

Mega Dimension Takes Pokémon To Hyperspace
For the first time in series history, you'll be able to take your Pokémon beyond level 100, so who knows what that will entails for their relative power levels.
The game's central city of Lumiose suddenly begins to see rifts appear all over the place, which in turn grants us access to an entirely different dimension that the developer is handily referring to as Hyperspace Lumiose.
That's the narrative they are using to bring some new Mega Evolutions into the game, including Chimecho and the sort-of-a-Legendary, sort-of-not Baxcalibur.
Chimecho's Mega Evolution sees six, smaller copies appear that endlessly flutter, regardless of wind. Baxcalibur's version sees the character gain a ton of Ice Energy and wield an enormous black blade that should cut through tough foes with relative ease. The Mega Stone needed can be gained from the Z-A Battle Club as a reward for advancing in online Ranked Battles.
Outside of the DLC, owners of the base game can claim a Diancite Stone by using. the Mystery Gift feature. In turn, that grants the chance to catch the Jewel Pokémon Diancie via the completion of an extra side mission titled Shine Bright like a Gemstone.
That mission needs you to head over to the Looker Bureau, where Mimi the Espurr—Emma’s partner Pokémon—will take an immediate interest in the Mega Stone, which sets the wheels of the brand new extra side mission in motion.
The only bad news for players and fans is that the release doesn't come cheap, with Mega Evolutions set to rock up at a pretty eye-watering £24.99. With that, we're hoping the amount of content is worth having, or they're going to have a tough time justifying the price.
