If there is one thing that has historically set PlayStation apart from its competitors over the years, it's great story-focused series that deliver across a long period of time for players.
Though console exclusivity is less of a thing these days, there are still a ton of games you can play on the PlayStation 5 that should give you a ton of entertainment, and it's even better when one of those comes along at no additional cost.
If you're a current PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, you'll be able to get your hands on Yakuza: Like a Dragon, when it's added to the catalog on 21 October as part of a very compelling overall offering for this month.
If you've never played a Yakuza game before, as the name may suggest, it follows major players in the Japanese underworld, as they seek to make their fortunes and leave their sworn enemies in the dust.

For Like a Dragon specifically, you'll be stepping into the polished shoes of Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt in a low-ranking yakuza family in Tokyo, who is facing a pretty hefty 18-year prison sentence for a crime that he didn't commit.
After serving his time in the unforgiving prison system, he returns to society to discover that nobody is waiting for him and his clan has been destroyed by the man he previously trusted more than anyone.
From there, you'll be drawn into a genuinely compelling story that touches on revenge and redemption, within a game that's very solid gameplay-wise, and filled with impressive mechanics and features.
The series has become considerably more zany over the years, and there's a lot of quite out there stuff that goes on throughout. You can basically pick anything up and use it as a weapon, and you can step into 19 jobs throughout your playthrough to earn some money on the side, from bodyguard to musician.

It's also some of the best value you'll find anywhere on PS Plus, with more than 45 hours to just complete the main story according to HowLongToBeat.com. If you're more of a completionist, you're looking at something like 105 hours to get everything done.
With all of that content, and impressive quality throughout, it's difficult not to recommend Yakuza: Like a Dragon if you have even a passing interest in RPGs, or you just enjoy games with solid storytelling, gameplay and a penchant for slightly weird humour.
