PlayStation Plus Reveals 8 More Free Games In Stellar October Line-Up

Spooktober is here!

Sony has announced the latest additions coming to PlayStation Plus later this month, and it’s perfect for the Halloween season.

For most horror fans, October is their Christmas, being the month of Halloween, and all. Not that we ever need an excuse to fire up some spooky movies or video games, but it’s always an easy incentive, nonetheless.

This week, fans have been eagerly awaiting what new offerings are coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers. Unlike PS Plus Essential, both Extra and Premium offer tons more games to play on PS5 and PS4.

Furthermore, with PlayStation Plus Premium, subscribers can play some retro delights of the PS1, PS2 and PSP eras, courtesy of its classics library.

In recent months, when it comes to classic horror games, fans have enjoyed the likes of Capcom’s Dino Crisis, as well as the original Resident Evil trilogy coming to PlayStation Plus Premium. In the survival horror genre, one major game that is missing (in my opinion) is the original Silent Hill.

While the original Silent Hill hasn't yet been announced for PlayStation Plus, we might just have the next best thing because, following recent rumours, the fantastic 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 from Bloober Team is coming to the Extra and Premium tiers.

In my review of Silent Hill 2, I said: “Bloober Team has treated this remake with the utmost respect, and despite that forced stealth section, this is about a perfect remake of Silent Hill 2 and everything I could have hoped for. Bloober Team has finally realised its potential, and its remake of Silent Hill 2 deserves its place amongst the upper echelon of modern survival horror greats.”

However, the Silent Hill 2 remake isn't the only game coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium this month. Because let’s be honest, as fantastic as that game is, subscribers would be justifiably annoyed if only one game were offered.

Not only are we getting the Silent Hill 2 remake with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, but another remake released in 2024, and that’s Until Dawn.

In our review of Until Dawn, GAMINGbible’s Kate said: “Until Dawn is one such IP that I’m glad hasn’t been left to, like poor Hannah and Beth, wither away. Ballistic Moon has rid the game of its outdated tendencies, creating something that is far more grounded, detailed, and immersive.”

Also, coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium are:

  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5/PS4)
  • As Dusk Falls (PS5/PS4)
  • V Rising (PS5)
  • Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 (PS5/PS4)
  • Wizard with a Gun (PS5)

PlayStation Plus Premium:

  • Tekken 3 (PS5/PS4)

All the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games featured in this article will be available on Tuesday, 21 October 2025.
