When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launched in September, it finally introduced official mod support on console, with the first hefty offering now having arrived.
âTales of The Witcher: Cintraâ is available to enjoy on PlayStation, as spotted by Twitter/X user Jebin_wa, with the generous player-made expansion featuring a whopping 12 quests set across roughly five hours of content.
âPretty cool to see, what I assume, is the first big mod available on PS5,â they noted, and we completely agree.
âTales of The Witcher: Cintraâ originally surfaced on NexusMods for PC users and is the work of creator gerwant30.
Advert
Rather than extending the narrative of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it actually transports you to âa new world in a different timeâ and is set âlong before the events of the books and gamesâ.
Players have the opportunity to experience a brand new story as they take on contracts within an equally new world, killing plenty of monsters along the way.
âIn Cintra, like anywhere else, people spin whatever yarns come to mind, especially after a few tankards of vile beer. One of those tales, mumbled by a dying hearth, is a legend,â begins the Geralt-narrated synopsis.
âIt all started with a simple job. A contract near Hilden. But on-site, after finding the tracks, things started to get complicated. I decided to play the hero again.
âWhispers of a gang called the âBlue Roseâ are spreading through the villages. They're not fanatics praying to some forgotten saint. They're a band of cutthroats who discovered that there's real power slumbering beneath the old legend.
âAnd me? As usual, I walked right into the middle of this swamp. Instead of a simple job, I got tangled up in a conspiracy reeking of greed, blood, and black magic. I'll have to untangle it. My way.â
Itâs something to keep you busy until Songs of the Past arrives

The mod will take you to the kingdom of Cintra plus the village of Hilden, as well as several additional surrounding regions.
Again, there are a total of at least 12 quests, with that split up into six main quests, three side quests, and three minor quests with the modâs creator noting that it should take you five-hours to reach full completion.
Gerwant30 recently posted that theyâd added the modâs âfinal questâ so the offering may have been extended.
This mod also overhauls The Witcher 3âs economy, so that players earn money predominantly through monster-hunting as opposed to selling stuff.

âTales of The Witcher: Cintraâ has thousands of downloads and PC, with plenty of players offering extensive positive feedback.
âVery good work with the mod, with lots of details and attention to it. In particular, the design of boss fights, each of them felt special and dangerous,â wrote one player.
âIt is so Witcher 1 vibe with everything. Thank you for this experience,â added another.
Of course, an official expansion is on the way in 2027 in the form of Songs of the Past but if youâre looking for something to satiate your appetite now, particularly on PlayStation which was previously devoid of mods, âTales of The Witcher: Cintraâ is it.
