PlayStation 5 price cut includes cheaper God Of War Ragnarök

The PlayStation Direct store is currently selling PS5 consoles (Disc and Digital) with God of War Ragnarök way cheaper than usual.

If you’ve been holding off on buying a PlayStation 5 due to its high price point, there are some significant savings to be had right now that should definitely help lessen the impact on your wallet.

In case you missed the news, last year, Sony suddenly raised the RRP of both Disc and Digital Edition PS5s in several countries around the world, including the UK, Canada, Australia and Japan. Considering that until very recently, many people were still unable to grab one of these things at all due to stock issues and the prevalence of scalpers, this didn’t go down well. It’s all well and good being able to find a console in a shop if you can’t afford it anymore.

The PS VR2 released earlier this year exclusively for PS5 owners. Take a look at our review below.

Thankfully though, as Metro reports, Sony is currently offering some pretty spicy deals on both editions of the console. PlayStation Direct customers can grab a Disc Edition PS5 for £499.99, bundled in with God of War: Ragnarök. That’s a saving of around £40, which in the UK more than covers the £30 price increase that the console got last year.

The Digital Edition console is also bundled with Kratos’ latest adventure, and costs £409.99 instead of £449.99. Again, a considerable saving that completely eradicates that pesky price hike.

Last month, we reported that this same Disc Edition offer was available from the BT Store. In fact, it still is - I’m not sure how it hasn’t gone out of stock yet, but it’s the exact same price as PlayStation Direct’s offer. However, the BT Store doesn’t have the Digital Edition deal, so if you want one of those, you’ll have to go through Sony.

If you’re interested in either of the bundle deals from PlayStation Direct, you have until midnight on 17 April before the offer runs out (or until they go out of stock). Take a look at the Disc Edition here, and the Digital Edition here.
