One of the best RPGs ever made, period, is now available on Xbox Game Pass, and you owe it to yourself to give this one a go if you haven’t already.
I would be extremely jealous of folks over on Xbox right now if I only owned a PlayStation, because a game that I would personally list in my top five RPGs of all time, alongside the likes of Dragon Age: Origins and Chrono Trigger, can be yours to play for free through Xbox Game Pass.
If you haven’t played it yet though, then I hope you have a spare 100 hours to hand if you want to complete it.
I am. of course. referring to Persona 4 Golden, which (as spotted by ComicBook’s Tyler Fischer) is now a part of the Xbox Game Pass catalogue.

The 2012 re-release of Atlus’ 2008 school life simulator is often regarded by critics and fans alike as the best entry in the Persona series, and the original PS Vita version of the game has earned itself an extremely impressive 93/100 score on Metacritic.
Plus, it shouldn’t matter which platform your Xbox Game Pass subscription is active on, as the game is available for PC, Xbox One, and both Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.
And, before you ask, yes– this one was on Xbox Game Pass originally… last year.
A few Persona games disappeared from the Xbox Game Pass library towards the end of 2024, assumedly because Atlus thought that the release of both Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio would inspire people to seek out (and ultimately buy) some of the older games in the series.

However, this might be one of the worst times in history to play Persona 4 Golden, as Atlus has announced that a remake of the game is due at some point in the next couple of years.
Still, that just means you have an excuse to play one of the best games ever made twice.
