Xbox To Reveal Surprise New Sequel Next Month, Insiders Claim

Vroom vroom

One of the Xbox's most consistent flagship series could be about to get another sequel and it's good news for those of you who like to experience very fast cars without spending hundreds of thousands of pounds.

As initially reported by Windows Central, Forza Horizon 6 is set to be announced at the Tokyo Game Show, with that potential reveal actually hinting at a lot of what the game will be about when it is confirmed.

The story starts with a now-deleted Instagram post (spotted by VGC before its removal) that showed a Japanese Kei car being photographed for use in the next edition of Forza Horizon. These cars are essentially exclusive to Japan, and another major hint that it will serve as the location for the next game.

That has now led into this latest report, which alleges that new documents being circulated in relation to the event have confirmed that the next release in the Forza Horizon series is set to feature. That news has been further corroborated by other journalists who have also seen the documents, with the show set to take place at the end of September.

Japan has been one of the most highly requested locations for a Horizon game, with the country's legendary racing and drifting scene serving as the perfect foil for the racing series' bonkers approach to driving simulation.

The new game will be built inside the ForzaTech engine which we've already seen in action in 2023's Forza Motorsport, and which is also set to serve as the foundation for the upcoming Fable from Playground Games.

Xbox will be hoping that Forza Horizon 6 will be able to build on the stellar reputation of the previous game, and its immense commercial success. The fifth game even featured in top 10 sales charts throughout 2025, peaking at number two in the second quarter of this year, according to market dynamics reports.
