Whether you’re a fan of the Call of Duty series or not, there’s no denying that it’s one of the biggest and most profitable franchises of all time and the next big launch is always a massive event.

Following months of speculation, Activision finally revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to the world with a very cryptic teaser trailer that revealed very little about the game. However, marketing material appeared to confirm one of the most controversial moments in history, the setting of the Gulf War which looks to be prominent in the upcoming Call of Duty release.

Check out the Black Ops 6 live-action trailer below!

Other rumours claimed that the former president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein will be a leading character in the game, which makes sense considering that Black Ops 6 looks to be set during the Gulf War. There have also been rumours that Black Ops 6 won't be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but thankfully, that appears not to be true.

Furthermore, it’s also been revealed that Black Ops 6 will launch on Xbox Game Pass with Activision now being a Microsoft-owned company which essentially makes the Call of Duty franchise a first-party property of the green brand despite it being a multi-platform franchise.

So, with Black Ops 6 launching on Xbox Game Pass, many gamers feared Microsoft would capitalise on that prospect by charging an added premium to its subscription service. Luckily, as reported by Eurogamer, the next entry in the Call of Duty series will be available to all subscribers across all tiers including Xbox Game Pass Core, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

“Upon launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be playable on Xbox and PC for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass for Console members," a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 doesn't have a solid release date at the time of writing other than a late 2024 launch, but hopefully all will be revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase on 9 June. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
