Millions might not be able to play the next CoD

To what may come as a shock to absolutely no one, we’re getting another Call of Duty game later this year. I just hope that you were sat down for that shocking revelation.

Since the series' inception in 2003, Activision has released a new Call of Duty game almost every year with the exception being 2004 and since that time, it has gone on to be one of the most popular and financially lucrative video game properties of all time.

Check out the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 teaser trailer below!

Earlier this week following months of speculation, Activision finally teased Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with a very vague teaser trailer that appeared to show no actual gameplay but it hinted at its government conspiracy storyline. Previous rumours had also claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be set during the controversial Gulf War and it appears that the rumour has now been confirmed.

Official details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are practically non-existent at this time but we’ll no doubt learn more during the Xbox Games Showcase which takes place next month on Sunday 9 June. As for what platforms the game will be released, we’re left to make that assumption, for now.

However, according to the Twitter account CharlieIntel, it is claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be a new-gen game only, leaving the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One behind. It’s perhaps worth noting that CharlieIntel is quite a reliable source when it comes to the Call of Duty series.

“For those asking, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC,” it tweeted. “It's not confirmed whether it'll be on last-gen (PS4 + Xbox One) or Nintendo Switch yet. Xbox signed a 10-year deal to keep COD on PlayStation and bring it to Nintendo.”

It should come as no major surprise that the next Call of Duty may be leaving the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One behind, after all, it’s got to happen at some point. We’ll let you know as soon as this rumour is confirmed either way.
