Xbox Game Pass price set to increase again

Again? Xbox can't be serious

If there’s one thing gamers don’t like, it’s paying more than they feel is necessary.

There’s no denying that Xbox Game Pass often trumps PlayStation Plus in terms of free games.

However, that slight advantage doesn’t appear to be enough for fans to get on board with this recent news.

Microsoft is preparing to increase the cost of Xbox Game Pass once again.

It comes at a time when mass layoffs are taking place, one of which has seen Xbox quietly kill off one of its exclusives.

Why not cause yourself more stress by trying the Soulslike challenge that is Another Crab's Treasure?

Needless to say, fans aren’t impressed.

“Why does it feel like they're just erratically making decisions now?” asked Twitter user @HiddenXperia.

“It seems like they're floundering around trying to grab on to anything instead of having a plan and sticking to it.”

Further down the long thread of comments, someone else said, “Either Phil Spencer isn't getting a say in anything anymore or he's just another suit that tricked everyone.”

This isn’t the first time this week that Xbox has faced the ire of its users.

When new hardware was announced, backlash from fans ensued thanks to some rather poor choice of words.

We’re inclined to agree with previous sentiments that Xbox is floundering right now.

Even more so as it seems the brand is considering Hellblade II making its way to the PS5, as mentioned in the same tweet that highlighted this upcoming price hike.

Now is the time to get that hefty discount on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate while you still can, because it looks like it won’t stick around much longer.

“Xbox gonna go out of business if they keep embarrassing themselves and disregarding their fans. What a slap in the face,” is a tweet that’ll stick with us.

What Xbox’s future holds feels uncertain.
