Xbox gamers can play one of this year’s highest rated RPGs, some at no additional cost as well.
Xbox has had a big month with talk of its next-gen console, which sounds more like a PC than a console, and of course the massive controversy surrounding Xbox Game Pass.
If you’re thinking of unsubscribing from Xbox Game Pass because it’s grown a little too rich for your blood I’d urge you to hold on just a little bit longer, at least until you try this latest RPG.
The Outer Worlds 2 launched today and improves upon the previous game in almost every way. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the same studio behind Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds was a decent game but left a lot of gamers wanting more. It was hit with a lot of comparisons to Fallout but in space, and many just didn’t vibe with it for one reason or another.

While some gamers are saying the same thing about The Outer Worlds 2, it has a lot more support than the first game did, and you can learn our thoughts on the game through our review.

Other outlets seemingly enjoyed their time with the game too with The Outer Worlds 2 sitting at a comfortable score of 83 on Metacritic. Because the game only recently launched the user reviews haven’t been filled out yet.
If you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate you can jump into the game at no additional cost, but those on lower tiers will either have to wait until it becomes a Premium title or just not play it.
Consumerism At Its Finest
You’d be advised to play it through Xbox Game Pass if you can though, because if you bought the premium edition of the game for early-access and other goodies the game will straight-up roast you for paying more. Players get the Consumerism quirk which makes vendor prices cheaper but also increases your resale value.

It’s a cheeky trick and one many players are slating as offensive, but it’s just a bit of fun and isn’t going to ruin anyone’s playthrough.
So far The Outer Worlds 2 feels like a worthy sequel to the first game and if it follows in its predecessors' footsteps it won’t be long until we have some DLC to go with it.
For those playing on Xbox I’d urge you to give it a go before you cancel your Xbox Game Pass subscription.
