PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima reportedly appears on an Xbox store page, leaving gamers understandably baffled.
One of the most popular first-party PlayStation titles in recent years, namely Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch Productions, appears on the Xbox store, but there might be a genuine reason why.
Ghost of Tsushima was originally released in 2020 on the PlayStation 4, before getting enhanced versions on PlayStation 5 and PC, but I doubt for one second that anyone thought that it would one day be released on Xbox.
Saying that, we’re in a generation that has already seen the likes of Forza Horizon 5 and Gears of War be released on PlayStation 5, and with rumours that Halo might one day arrive on the blue brand, I guess anything is possible.

However, unlike Microsoft, Sony seems much more reluctant to allow its leading IPs to be released on Xbox, except for Helldivers 2, which recently jumped ship with the benefit of multiplayer cross-play.
For the most part, first-party games like The Last of Us Part I, God of War and the aforementioned Ghost of Tsushima will likely only ever be released on PC, outside of PlayStation. So, why on earth has the Sucker Punch Productions title appeared on the Xbox store?
“This one was not in my bingo card, but why not?” tweeted astaranx. The likely answer is probably less exciting than we might have hoped.

With the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally just a few weeks away, which, much like the Steam Deck, is a handheld PC, games available on Steam will be accessible via the new Xbox console. As such, a ton of PlayStation titles will be playable on the system.
What’s more, and this is pure speculation, there’s also probably a good chance that many PC titles will be accessible via the Xbox website, which might explain why Ghost of Tsushima has appeared on the store.
So it might be safe to nerf those lofty expectations that Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part I, God of War and more will be playable directly on an Xbox console, as awesome (and strange) as that would be.
In just a couple of weeks, the Ghost of Tsushima sequel, Ghost of Yōtei, will be released on PlayStation 5 on 2 October 2025.
