Earlier this year, Ghost of Tsushima celebrated its fifth anniversary, with PlayStation giving away a series of free avatars to mark the occasion.
You can use these avatars as your profile icon on your PlayStation console, allowing you to showcase your love for this 2020 Sucker Punch Productions masterpiece.
“Thank you so much to our amazing community that continues to show their love and support for our game. It's been an honor to still see such love five years later,” the studio wrote.
“We'd love to hear what makes Ghost of Tsushima special to you and see your favorite shot you captured in-game!”

It’s not a life-changing gift by any means, but it may get you in the mood for the upcoming sequel Ghost of Yōtei.
That title is set to launch very soon on 2 October and whilst I’ve called it a sequel, it is one that centres around a completely different character.

Ghost of Yōtei will follow the adventures of Atsu, a wandering mercenary who is seeking out revenge on the ‘Yōtei Six’ who murdered her family.
This group is led by samurai Lord Saitō, and comprises the Snake, Oni, Kitsune, Spider, and Dragon.
The game is set 329 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, taking us to Ezo - or what is modern day Hokkaido.
While Ghost of Yōtei should feel familiar to those who played Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch has, naturally, made some adjustments to the formula.

The open world, for example, is supposedly more balanced this time around - featuring a wider array of activities to avoid the feeling of repetition.
Atsu also can utilise firearms which wasn’t a weapon option last time.
Don’t forget that a Legends multiplayer mode was also confirmed at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live a few weeks ago.
This will function similarly to the Legends mode in the series’ first game.

There will be two-player story missions to complete as well as four-player survival matches where you’ll be able to face off against monstrous versions of the Yōtei Six as well as enemies inspired by Japanese Mythology.
I should stress, however, that Legends will not be available upon release; it’ll launch in 2026 as a free update.
I wonder if Sucker Punch has a single-player DLC planned further down the line given that Ghost of Tsushima received Iki Island as well as Legends?
Typing all of this has reminded me just how hyped I am to get my hands on this game.

I just hope I can still write little poems and play a flute to calm nearby animals.
