Necrophosis looks grotesque

In my humble opinion, nothing beats a good horror movie or video game. Being scared and unnerved are emotions that very few genres can offer and if that sounds like your jam then you might want to check out this upcoming Steam game for free.

That being said, as much as I love the horror genre, not every movie or video game can get it right nor be an instant classic like Resident Evil 2 or Silent Hill 2. Two examples that come to mind of a job not well done are Blair Witch from Bloober Team and the Alone in the Dark movie starring Christian Slater (the latter doesn't even fall into the so bad it's good category).

However, one upcoming horror game that looks to hit the ground running is an indie title developed and published by Dragonis Games, and it’s called Necrophosis. Best of all, you can check out its free playable demo available to download now for PC.

Necrophosis inspired by Zdzislaw Beksinski is a chilling first-person horror adventure, plunging you into a nightmarish realm teeming with grotesque forms and ominous visuals. Delve into eerie landscapes and uncover secrets in this atmospheric journey through the macabre,” reads the description of the game on Steam.

“With every turn you take and every sigh that escapes your lips, you bear witness to the relentless touch of decay. Necrophosis weaves its grim tapestry, enveloping you in a haunting journey through a macabre world where death is not an end, but a pervasive reality.”

No release date has been announced for Necrophosis at the time of writing but it is expected to launch on PC at some point this year. A console release is also planned.

Necrophosis does give me Scorn vibes but hopefully, Necrophosis proves to be a better game and looks as good as it does in its gameplay trailer. We’ll keep you posted when we hear of a confirmed release date on PC as well as consoles.
