Steam: six more free games available to download now

Another six Steam freebies join the family.

Steam is a magical place, filled with many popular games. And sometimes, some of these games are free – like the latest batch of six free games available right now.

The titles entering the freebie zone are all fairly new releases, with this being the perfect way to reach would-be players who might like the content each game is laying down. Due to so little being known about this latest handful of titles, it makes sense that there’s little to no reviews on them at all – a couple have 40 plus reviews, but that’s not the common thread here.

PlayStation Plus premium subscribers can currently enjoy a free trial of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.

What’s on offer, I hear you ask? Well, there’s a bit of something for everyone, though three out of the six games are rather cutesy looking, so there’s an unspoken theme that’s hard to ignore. Among the adorable-looking titles are Little Man Has A Day, Be The Richest, and HoloCure, while TimeMelters, Deckweaver, and Episode 666 bring the action… and some spooks!

It’s quite possible you’ve seen these games plugged elsewhere on Steam, because users have been reporting an annoying increase in a “disgusting” advertising techniques; indie devs are heading onto pages of other games and suggesting players check out their page as well. Quite frankly, it’s giving most users the ick, but that doesn’t seem to be deterring those making the posts.

Even if you’re not sold on the six offerings available for free right now, what’s the harm in giving a 15 minute game a play? According to the game’s features, Little Man Has A Day will take 15 minutes or less for you to complete, meaning you can wander through its 2D narrative-driven artwork before your takeout arrives. Also speeding through its gameplay is the PC game Episode 666, which offers approximately 10 minutes of jumpscares and flickering shadows in doorways; it was only made in a week, but it’s had a decent reception so far.

This is all about getting bang for your buck, and when you don’t even have to pay a buck to get that bang, you can bet every other Steam game you own that we’re downloading those six freebies asap.
