Steam is having a mashup of its offerings this summer, attracting new games with wild price tags while slashing some iconic series.
While we await an autumn that will be jam-packed with game releases, Steam has quickly emerged as a haven for its users, thanks to its discounted and free offerings.
This summer is all about saving the pennies like a squirrel with their nuts - unless you have a cool grand to slap on one of the most bizarre 'luxury experience' titles ever.
But if you're looking to get your teeth into something before this year's massive influx of titles all release at the same time, one of the most iconic series has just been slashed on Steam, with the most recent remaster getting a huge 90% discount.
Launched in 2023, the Dead Space remake opened up old wounds by recreating one of the best horror games of all time.

The iconic series was revived after ten years in the cold, and hoping to make up for its lacklustre final instalment - and boy did they just.
With a flat-out 9/10 rating, the Dead Space remake recaptured everything that made its original so skin-crawlingly horrifying, yet immensely enjoyable.
Now, all of that emotional wrangle is just £5.

Originally priced at £50, the 90% Steam discount offers the legendary title for just a fiver, and it could be the perfect evening pastime that keeps you on the edge of your gaming chair.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
The entire series, including the three original titles, is also on sale.
Given that the original title is now more expensive than its remake, you could easily enjoy the 2023 instalment before heading back to the sequel and trilogy game, getting the full experience for a grand total of £12.18.
It could also be a great time to try it before a rumoured fourth instalment arrives.
While not yet announced, so some time away before it arrives (but that gives you plenty of time to work through the upcoming wishlist), Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield has outlined his plans for a fourth game.
"I have quite a few ideas that I'm ready to go with, and one of them is Dead Space 4," he said.
"The fact that EA just got bought, I think there’s an opportunity. I’m already making calls."
Either that, or a horror movie akin to Resident Evil, is in play behind closed doors, and getting a taste of Dead Space now will whet your appetite for the future.
