For a limited time only, PC users can claim a frankly fascinating sci-fi RPG, recommended by thousands of players.

You may usually wander down the halls of Steam’s impressive storefront for your freebies, but you’ll find the best giveaways elsewhere. Quality over quantity, as they do say.

The Epic Games Store, for instance, is a treasure trove of freebies, and hilariously, even the company itself acknowledges how most gamers only use it for free games before heading back to Steam.

For the next week or so, you can add a simply stellar RPG to your backlog, but rather than leave it there to gather dust, we’d recommend we jump in straight away, as would others who’ve played it.

The game we’re talking about is none other than Citizen Sleeper and while you’ll find its sequel out there with plenty of advancements and new content, this is where you should ideally start.

First off, if you look at the screenshots or gameplay footage and think this game looks too complicated, stick with it; it’ll all click relatively quickly.

In Citizen Sleeper, you’ll be “roleplaying in the ruins of interplanetary capitalism” as the game’s description teases.

The society is decrepit and lawless, falling apart at the seams, so you’ll need to use your wits and street smarts to survive.

There’s no magical fix that’ll fix all your woes; you're at the deep end and must do anything to survive, which means choosing your allies wisely.

Aside from a brilliant dystopian story, what Citizen Sleeper boasts above all else is freedom. The game’s description says it was inspired by the “flexibility” of tabletop RPGs, so if you like titles that let you be anyone and do anything, this is one for you.

Of course, if you’re still on the fence about the whole thing, that’s fine as well, because you can claim and keep the game for absolutely nothing right now via Epic Games.

It’s on offer until 25 June, which gives you plenty of time to add it to your library, and then head on back to Steam as most Epic Games users do…

Citizen Sleeper isn’t the only freebie available, either. You can also pick up ROBOBEAT for nothing at the same time.

This one is a rhythm shooter that looks like a lot of fun. It gives me Ultrakill vibes but with more emphasis on keeping a beat. ROBOBEAT, like Citizen Sleeper, will also be free until 25 June.

Add both of these games to your library today and they’ll stay there forever. Who’s going to say no to a freebie?
