Steam RPG with over 1,000 hours of gameplay free to download and and keep

Not everyone is as in to massive RPGs as you might think. While some hear '300 hours of gameplay' and rejoice, others recoil in horror and glance over at their ever-growing backlog of titles.

True enough, the more you game the more you come to appreciate an experience you can get through in under 20 hours. That's not to say that properly meaty 100-hour RPGs aren't welcome from time to time. Of course they are.

There are plenty of huge RPGs available to download on Steam these days, many of them free! And the good news is that one of the biggest RPGs out there will soon be free to download and keep for anyone with a PC, no subscription needed.

Take a look at the game in question below!

Yep, from 20 July PC users with an Epic Games account will be able to claim The Elder Scrolls Online. There's no need for any kind of subscription; simply set up an Epic Games account if you don't already have one, and claim the game from the Epic Games Store between 20 July and 27 July. Easy. So easy. Too easy? No, just the right amount of easy.

For those who have never played The Elder Scrolls Online, it's not exactly like the open-world RPGs you're used to from previous entries like Skyrim and Oblivion. This one is, as the name suggests, an MMORPG, but it's a properly massive one packed with familiar locations, characters, and lore. It's definitely well worth a look if you're an Elder Scrolls fan, especially for the low price of nothing.

It's also worth pointing out that this promotion only includes the base game. The Elder Scrolls Online has a ton of cool expansions, so if you want to see absolutely everything the game has to offer you will need to fork out eventually. But for now this is the perfect opportunity to give the adventure a go and see if you vibe with it.

If you're looking for something else, there are four more massively overlooked games currently free on Steam right now. Oh, and these ones aren't limited time offers, so do take your time downloading them.
