It’s that time again; several new free-to-play games have landed on Steam, and I’m here to talk you through them.
As always, shoutout to SteamGamesPC for bringing these to our attention.
Let’s begin with WallSmashers.

This one’s an “action physics-destruction-based infinite runner” game, which is quite a mouthful, developed by Thomas Leyland Torr and published by Pleyland Games.
Essentially, you’ll play as a ball rolling along a road and it’s your job to smash into as many walls as possible throughout your journey.
The more walls you smash, the more points and momentum you accumulate and the goal is to land a high score on the game’s leaderboard.
I’m imagining it’s going to be hard to tear some of you away from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Next up, allow me to introduce you to Mountain’s Memory, developed and published by Waterfall Studio.

This game is a walking simulator meets horror hybrid, so prepare to encounter a couple of spooks.
In this one, you’ll explore a mountain at night armed with only a lamp.
I’ve not given this one a go myself (I’m a scaredy cat) so I can’t exactly tease what you’ll encounter, but I’d hazard a guess that it’s neither pleasant nor friendly.
My favourite title on this list is Sea Blindness, a 2D pixel-art narrative RPG from Pengyu Studio.

This one’s set in the year 2064 where you’ll assume the role of Jimmy, “a deep-sea researcher who becomes entangled in a mysterious incident only to discover he's trapped inside a video game”.
As such, the title promises “fourth wall breaking gameplay” and “self aware NPCs” which sounds both unique and interesting.
Finally, Schizophrenia rounds out this list - a psychological horror title developed by TheCourget.
This one is quite clearly going to contain themes that some players may find upsetting so that’s worth bearing in mind.

Again, I’ve not sampled this one myself so I cannot comment on the quality of its representation of mental health disorders.
The game does boast a ‘Mostly Positive’ review score though, with players praising the “concept” and storytelling.
All of the above titles are free to enjoy now over on Steam.
