8 free Steam games you can play this Bank Holiday

Lots of new games to play

If you’re looking for something new to play over the Bank Holiday weekend, then Steam has you covered. All you need to play these eight, brilliant games, is a Steam account and you’ll have access to some great recent releases, as well as some up-and-coming indie gems.

No matter what you’re looking to play, Steam features a great selection and we’ve handpicked some of the games that you must try out. You’ve got plenty of time to squeeze some gaming in between chomping down Easter Eggs, so get these downloaded.

Just one of our many recommendations, you need to play Sand Land today

If survival games are your jam, then look no further than Lightyear Frontier, a recent release that puts you in the driving seat of a colonising mech. You’ll be planting crops, hunting for resources, and feeding local wildlife in this cosy farming sim. There’s a great new deckbuilder that places you within a magical academy where you’ll learn some epic spells and create weird and wonderful potions. If you’re a budding witch or wizard, try out Spellcard Academy.

If you’re a big anime fan and are already missing Akira Toriyama, you have to play Sand Land, based on his fantastic Manga. This is an action RPG inspired by gorgeous designs from the late Toriyama, which has many fans excited. Liftlands is a beautiful city builder with a lush cartoon aesthetic, where you must play as a God who must raise a world of humans in order to become the strongest God in the cosmos.

Despite its bizarre name, Feed the Cups is a great simulation where you run a drinks store serving all the fancy beverages that both look and taste great. It’s a roguelike multiplayer title that pits you against others to see who has the best store. If that’s not your cup of boba tea, then what about SULFUR? An action-adventure created with cel-shaded visuals in a world with plenty of monsters to fight and loot to discover.

We’ve got more deckbuilding with Nif Nif, a very cute and family-friendly card game filled with critters and bugs. Made by a gamer mum who wanted to share her passion for games with her kids, this looks like a delight. Lastly, you have to set some time aside to play ROBOBEAT, a new rhythm game where you play as robot bounty hunter, Ace. You must move, act, and shoot on beat in order to win big.
