Steam drops 7 free downloads you can grab now, no subscription needed

These freebies require little from you

Whenever we hear that there’s freebies on offer without the need for a subscription, our ears prick up.

What can we say – we love a bargain, especially if said bargain is free.

Among the numerous Steam titles available for free, there’s also currently seven free downloads on offer that require nothing from you save a Steam account.

It sounds too good to be true, but we assure you it’s real.

How beautiful does Starsand Island look?

The downloads can be separated into two distinct camps: for lovers of FPS, and those who want to celebrate PAX East.

Obviously, if you want to show your appreciation for both, you walk away the ultimate winner.

As the regular PC gamers among you may have already guessed, these downloads come in the form of animated avatars, stickers, and frames.

Much like the digital collectibles with see with PlayStation Stars Campaign, they’re nothing more than a pretty accessory.

Nevertheless, while they may seem pointless to some people, to others they help them customise their profile.

Should none of the above interest you, allow us to point you in the direct of a Legend of Zelda-style free download that will deliver those classic Zelda vibes.

There’s also a demo available for upcoming cosy game Fishbowl, a title which I personally previewed recently and can say it’s one to watch. And not just because of its adorable visuals.

Our point? There are a lot of freebies floating around Steam. You just need to know where to look. Thank goodness you have us on hand to help point you in the right direction.

Regarding the seven downloads in particular, they don’t have any time limit on them. Consequently, you can take your time deciding whether you want to update your profile.

We’re not sure why you’d wait on a free download, but we won’t judge your decisions... much.
