Try as we might to forget about games like Skyrim, we just can't seem to get enough of its rich world building and deep lore. It's no surprise then, that any new RPG that has even a whiff of Skyrim-esque gameplay grabs our attention.
But what if Bethesda's beloved title isn't for you – will this upcoming RPG pique your interest? In short, yes. Not only does it appear to have many popular Elder Scrolls aspects, but it also has some God of War-like mysteries for you to uncover as you go. And as we all know, the words God of War are enough to have gamers salivating.
So, what is this new title? Well, it's called Among the Trolls.

Players will take on the role of Anna, a protagonist travelling from the US to Finland to follow in her grandfather's footsteps and learn what actually happened to him. Naturally, her journey isn't without danger. You'll need to "survive and thrive in the breathtaking yet unforgiving Finnish wilderness" by adapting to the harsh conditions; Anna will need to do whatever it takes to find the answers she seeks.
Currently, Among the Trolls has no release date advertised on its Steam page. However, don't let that dishearten you as the page promises that early access will be coming soon.
In the meantime, if you need to get your fill of mysticism, you can always return to the familiar shores of God of War to get your kicks. Or, perhaps, to help you heal. As detailed by GAMINGbible's Sam Cawley, these games can offer more than a way to let off steam – they can also help you heal from grief.
We can't say whether Among the Trolls will offer such a varied and transformative experience, but given its similarities to God of War, we anticipate an emotional journey that has a lot of heart.
