Of all the RPG series in all the world, few manage to come anywhere close to the Mass Effect trilogy.
The story of Commander Shepherd and their efforts to stop the destruction of the galaxy in the face of a threat that's difficult to comprehend is one of the most compelling that I have ever played, and I won't miss an opportunity to tell people how much I love it. So much so that Mass Effect 2 has a legitimate claim to being my favourite game of all time.
With that in mind, picking up the Legendary Edition (which includes all three games) should always be encouraged, particularly when it's available at a heavily discounted rate.
Over on Steam, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is currently available at a staggering 90% discount, making it just £4.99/$5.99 depending on where you are in the world. Needless to say, that's an incredible amount of value for money, with all three games available via a single launcher.

Sweetening the deal even further, the Legendary Edition includes all of the DLCs ever released for each of the games, meaning you'll have access to entire additional storylines, new weapons, items and customisation options, as well as additional members for your team.
Bioware's classic series has aged somewhat over the years, with the first game in particular looking somewhat decrepit in the face of modern RPGs. In good news, the Legendary Edition also goes some way to addressing that, with improved visuals and graphics, all available in 4K Ultra HD with HDR (just ignore the sometimes terrifying eyes).
Shepherd has also come in for some changes, with a ton of extra customisation options, so you can really make the character your own if you wish. The now fairly iconic Femshep from Mass Effect 3 has also been made available in the earlier games, so you can have a logical character continuation with a female version of the character.
Before you do decide to take the plunge and go for the best purchase of your life, it's important to note that the game is available for "free" if you're already an existing subscriber to EA Play. That service allows you to play via Steam on your PC or Game Pass on PC and Xbox, if you aren't looking to spend any extra cash.

That said, we highly recommend that you do here, and I'd be willing to bet that you'll never regret owning that trilogy outright, regardless of the outcome of Mass Effect 2's suicide mission.
