If you’re a fan of both Cyberpunk 2077 and Dark Souls, then you’ll want to check out this upcoming game.

The mere mention of Cyberpunk 2077 and Dark Souls is an augmentation that residents of Night City could only ever dream of. Alas, here’s a promising new RPG set to entice both fans of the series from CD Projekt RED and FromSoftware.

That RPG in question is the indie title developed and published by Screen Juice, Morbid Metal, and what we’ve seen so far looks like it could be one of the coolest-looking games ever.

Check out the Morbid Metal trailer below!

Other than the aforementioned comparisons, Morbid Metal kind of reminds me of if Cyberpunk 2077 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice got together to have a baby (sorry for that image).

“Morbid Metal is an action-packed rogue-lite, in which players can shapeshift between four different characters in real-time, all with unique active abilities and stylish attacks,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam. “Rapidly switch characters and combine abilities to slaughter enemies in stylish fashion.”

“Progress through stunning, semi-procedurally generated levels, fighting through hordes of enemies and powerful bosses in various environmental biomes, ranging from desolate wastelands of the far future, to the overgrown ruins of mankind.”

“Finally! I have been waiting for this game to arrive since the first developer teaser,” said Glitchcraft_Sion, commenting on a trailer on YouTube.

“The attack animations on the Glaive character look so good,” replied Daroka20.

“That boss at the end looks BRILLIANT!” exclaimed DrMutran.

No release date has been announced for Morbid Metal at the time of writing, but the developers intend for the game to enter early access on Steam this summer.

In the meantime, be sure to wishlist Morbid Metal to be notified when it's ready to launch. Hopefully, this promising RPG will also be released on console platforms.
