This Skyrim mod fixes one of our biggest problems with the game

This must-have Skyrim mod fixes the game's biggest flaw

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is up there as one of the greatest games ever made, which is pretty obvious considering it’s still just as popular now as it was when it was released in 2013.

Even when Bethesda finally drops The Elder Scrolls VI, I’d bet there’ll still be a decent playerbase left on Skyrim.

Unfortunately the only glimpse of The Elder Scrolls VI’s world is what we saw in the below teaser, which isn’t much, but it’s something

However while the base game is great, it turns into something else entirely when PC players shower it with mods.

The mod we’re talking about today is one that fixes one of the game’s biggest flaws, the boring combat.

You might disagree but the combat in Skyrim isn’t very exciting, in fact I’d equate it to the mediaeval version of Rock'em Sock'em Robots, two people stood in place slashing and smacking each other until one goes down.

The Stress And Fear mod created by JaySerpa aims to fix this problem by adding in two new status effects for the player, stress and fear.

After enduring the hardships of combat and walking away from overwhelming odds the player’s character will be affected by one of these status effects, encouraging you to take a break from the action and not overextend yourself.

When afflicted by stress, you’ll have reduced stamina and magicka until you eat or drink something, take a nap, or do some other relaxing activity.

Fear is a bit different, as let’s say you’re almost killed by one of the game’s enormous spider enemies. You’ll then develop a phobia of this enemy type, so the next time you face one you’ll deal reduced damage and experience tunnel vision.

Both are really cool status effects, and do a great job of adding some spice to the combat as well as make you more selective of who you throw down with and what you do to recover.
