Red Dead Redemption 3 be damned, this RDR2 overhaul will keep us happy for ages

Red Dead Redemption 3 be damned, this RDR2 overhaul will keep us happy for ages

Good thing too because we're going to be playing RDR2 for another decade at this rate

Players on PC can overhaul their copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 with this spectacular mod, the most advanced you’ll get until Red Dead Redemption 3.

While a third Red Dead Redemption game is almost definitely on the cards given the success of the first two games, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Rockstar Games tackle a slightly smaller project after GTA VI.

Check out the teaser trailer for GTA VI below

With at least a decade until Red Dead Redemption 3 though players can still enjoy the most recent game, even more so if you’ve got a monster PC built to play it.

Allow me to draw your attention to the Digital Dreams YouTube channel, which recently posted a video of Red Dead Redemption 2 running with an RTX 4090.

As you can imagine the effects largely speak for themselves, so it’s fitting the video begins with Arthur standing atop one of the tallest points in the game to take in the gorgeous view that lies ahead of him.

Of course this ultra-modded version of the game also included ray tracing and other improvements, all which tie together to create a near-lifelike version of the in-game world.

Now if you want to achieve a similar level of graphical fidelity in your own version of the game, I have to be honest and tell you that it won’t be easy.

You’re going to need some powerful hardware in order to make it work, but when it comes to which mods to download there’s a near-endless list to choose from, and there are plenty of guides out there to help if you’re struggling.

If you’ve got the hardware for it though it’s worth playing Red Dead Redemption 2 in the best way possible, after all it’s all you’re going to have until the third game comes out, which won’t be for a while.
