Red Dead Redemption 2’s Braithwaite Manor mission hailed as one of the greatest video game moments of all time.

You could do a whole list ranking the Red Dead Redemption 2 missions from best to worst, in fact, some people probably have. While the game does suffer from the occasional boring segment, they’re few and far between for the majority of the game.

When Red Dead Redemption 2 is at its best though, it’s easy to see why it’s considered to be one of the greatest games ever made, and a tough act to follow by Rockstar Games' next AAA release, GTA VI.

Back to the topic at hand though, fans of the game have been discussing some of the greatest missions in the game, and while the end of Chapter 6 gets a lot of love, there’s arguably one better, the Braithwaite Manor mission.

This takes place during Chapter 3, and sees Arthur, Dutch and the rest of the gang attack the manor in the middle of the night. This is after discovering the manor’s occupant, Catherine Braithwaite, had kidnapped John Marston, prompting the gang to launch a rescue mission they execute with furious anger.

Reddit user God954 called this mission one of the “best video game levels” they’d ever played, along with levels from Ghost Of Tsushima and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019. While some fans favoured other levels over Braithwaite Manor, none could deny it’s a masterclass in action and storytelling, as are the rest of the selection.

Other honourable mentions were the time travel level from Titanfall 2, Kashyyyk from Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005), and of course, All Ghillied Up from the original Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The list could go on and on, but unfortunately, nothing really comes close to Red Dead Redemption 2. There’s a reason players are endlessly replaying it several years after its launch after all.
