Red Dead Redemption 2 players have probably missed a secret sniper rifle trick, at least I know I did.

One day, every secret in Red Dead Redemption 2 will be found, though that’s not today unfortunately.

Take a look at Red Dead Redemption 2 below

Turns out the weapon modification system in the game, accessed by taking your guns to the local gunsmith, secretly allows you to take a scope off your sniper rifle, though you have to jump through a few hoops to do it.

This isn’t a feature Rockstar Games intended to have in the game, it’s more along the lines of a glitch but it’s cool nonetheless and turns the game’s snipers into regular bolt-action rifles instead.

As a Reddit post by goopgoop221 perfectly put it, all you need to do to perform this glitch yourself is “go to a gunsmith, equip any sniper, holster it on your horse, get off, go inside the gunsmith, go to customise the rifle you have holstered on your horse, add a new scope, equip the rifle, go back to your horse and equip the rifle you have holstered.”

Once you’ve done this, the scope on your sniper rifle should have magically disappeared.

There isn’t really a point to doing this as it doesn’t give you an advantage or change the gameplay that much, but it’s a cool little feature nonetheless.

It’s not the only glitch that’s caused a buzz in Red Dead Redemption 2 either, as one player’s game got spooky with a blood moon, and while it wasn’t a glitch one player came face to face with an actual NPC demon while exploring the open-world.

Just goes to show you that Red Dead Redemption 2 is still full of surprises over five years later.
