Red Dead Redemption 2 players are somehow learning new things about the game years and years after it was released, such as a very upsetting fact about Arthur Morgan.

Rockstar Games truly outdid itself with the creation of Red Dead Redemption 2, which is often considered as the perfect example of an open world done right thanks to the sheer amount of detail packed into it.

Red Dead Redemption 2, for better or worse, has set the bar incredibly high for GTA VI and the pressure is definitely on for Rockstar to deliver, making the recent news of a possible delay to 2026 all the more worrying.

In the meantime, fans are stuck with GTA V and its Online mode as well as Red Dead Redemption 2, the latter of which still finding ways to surprise players new and old.

Recently some players made a shocking discovery about the game’s protagonist Arthur Morgan, who Rockstar clearly invested a lot of time into in both story writing and gameplay.

Aside from the protagonist’s remarks to NPCs, what he says about his surroundings and other little details, you can actually see the amount of pain he’s in when you look closely, and no we don’t mean later in the game when he starts coughing his guts out.

Arthur can convey human emotions like tears when he’s been severely injured by something, or even worse, when one of his horses dies whilst exploring.

While it’s impressive Rockstar Games added this minor attention to detail, it’s also heartbreaking considering the connection Arthur has to the player, as he’s often regarded as one of the greatest gaming protagonists of all time.

If Red Dead Redemption 3 continues the trend of the next game being a prequel, perhaps we’ll get to see Arthur one last time before his inevitable fate in the second game.
