Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are just realising Arthur Morgan had a son

Arthur Morgan had a son...?!

As hard as it may be to believe, only now are some fans realising that Arthur Morgan was a father.

In terms of secrets, this hardly falls into that category. Yet, there’s a handful of Red Dead Redemption 2 fans truly surprised to learn Arthur had a son and romantic partner.

“I somehow played through the game without noticing any mention of Arthur’s son and baby mama,” posted a shocked Redditor.

Other fans were less calm about this revelation, “HE HAD A WIFE AND SON, OMG THIS MAKES IT SO MUCH SADDER.” You can really the anguish reading this comment.

Rockstar Games’ title is already pretty tragic, without the added sting of realisation fans are suddenly experiencing. We’ve already learnt that John Marston recounted, albeit subtly, his experience with Arthur in RDR.

Add to that the grim secret that we’ve all been missing despite it being in plain sight, and I’d say the fandom has filled its pain quota.

For those still confused over how reference to his child could have been missed, on Redditor gives a reasonable account as to why it might have happened.

Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't done with you just yet...

“They were cut as appearing in the story early in development. They themselves as characters are still very much intended to be part of Arthur's story, just a part of it we aren't shown,” they explain.

“And honestly, I like that. Losing a child and their baby mama like that is a whole different type of grief and deserves privacy.”

Even if this isn’t the official reason, it further adds to the drama and pain of what Arthur goes through in RDR2.
