“Will there ever be another Uncharted game?” Reddit user Sad_Entertainer_122 previously asked.
Well, actually, it’s looking pretty likely, my friend.
Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the studio is working on a secondary project alongside the already announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Druckmann confirmed that he’d be acting only as a producer and mentor on the game, essentially confirming a prior rumour to be true.
A couple of months back, it came to light that Shaun Escayg, of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy fame, was leading a new game believed to be three years into development.
It looks as if that game and the one Druckmann has made reference to are one and the same.
It makes the most sense that we could be looking at some form of Uncharted reboot.

I’m doubtful that Naughty Dog would launch two new IPs with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet already being somewhat of a risk in today’s market, plus there’s no way Druckmann would only serve as a mentor on The Last of Us Part III.
It’s with all of this in mind that it looks incredibly likely that Uncharted will be making a return.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is shaping up nicely; I’d love to see some gameplay though.
The question is, if Uncharted does return, who should lead the game?

Should Chloe, Nadine, and Sam return as they did in The Lost Legacy?
Would you want to follow the adventure of an older Cassie, Nate’s daughter?
It actually seems like fans are most eager to reunite with Nate himself, but only if the entry serves as a prequel.
“The only possible way I see them doing another game with Nate would be if it were a prequel. And I mean one that takes place even before Golden Abyss,” wrote Reddit’s rites0fpassage.

“Give me all the backstory on Nate’s mother. How she died, his relationship with his father. His adventures with Sam. How he ended up in the orphanage, all of it!”
“Man, this would be phenomenal,” added Kauuma.
“We need more Sam and Sully,” added BelieveInBelieve16.
Personally, I’d love to see Cassie’s adventures as I definitely think she’ll want to follow in her mother and father’s footsteps, plus Naughty Dog has a great relationship with Kaitlyn Dever so I wouldn’t be surprised if all parties want to continue that collaboration.
