Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is hiding a very cool Easter egg that originally took players three years to discover, but I’m willing to bet that plenty of you still haven’t unearthed this one.
It’s criminal to me that the Uncharted franchise has been left to rot.
Certainly Nathan Drake’s story had drawn to a close, but the Nadine and Chloe-led The Lost Legacy proved that there’s life in the series beyond him.
Heck, I don’t even care if Nate is pulled out of retirement for a grand new adventure.
Advert
I sense that one day Uncharted will be revisited; a new instalment is surely a cash cow waiting in the wings.
Let’s not forget that Naughty Dog is reportedly working on a second game alongside Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, believed to have been in development for three years.
I’m crossing my fingers it’s Uncharted related but in the meantime, I want to highlight an Easter egg you can look out for on your next A Thief’s End playthrough.
It Involves a Lot of Climbing
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End landed all the way back in 2016 which, as a side note, is pretty hard to believe. How time flies, eh?
Three years later, Naughty Dog dev James Cooper took to Twitter - now X - to highlight that players had some more digging to do.
Cooper was responding to a post about an Easter egg in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy which sees Chloe enjoy a spot of yoga atop one of the game’s highest peaks.

“There’s also a similar Easter egg in Uncharted 4 that, to my knowledge, no one has ever found,” he wrote.
Fans soon loaded the game back up, searching for tall locations that might possibly fit the bill to unearth the hidden Easter egg, eventually going on to achieve success.
Climb The Clock Tower
In Chapter 11, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End players will visit a clocktower. Inside said tower is a puzzle which progresses the game’s main story.
What you might not know, however, is that you can actually climb the clocktower all the way to its very highest point.
The reason why it took so long for this Easter egg to be discovered is that there’s no trophy awarded for climbing the tower, so there was never a hint that this was possible.
Instead, your reward is a stunning view and a couple of bonus Nate voice lines.
Still, I’d say that’s not bad, especially if you’re yet to pull off this feat as it’s nice to even get a crumb of something ‘new’ in Uncharted after all these years of franchise dormancy.
