An angry Uncharted fan is upset after feeling like they’ve been lied to regarding the unannounced fifth numbered entry in the Naughty Dog series.
I get it, as a loyal fan since the very beginning, it pains me that we’re yet to get a brand new Uncharted game on the PlayStation 5.
Not including the 2017 spin-off, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy or remasters, the last mainline game to arrive was in 2016 with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on the PlayStation 4.

I think that we can all agree, waiting nearly a decade for Uncharted 5 is quite agonising, especially for one frustrated fan in particular.
However, there is some hope after Naughty Dog chief, Neil Druckmann, teased that a second game is in development alongside the already announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

“Will there ever be another Uncharted game?” asked Redditor Sad_Entertainer_122. “The only game I played was Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception on my PS3, but I just came back to the franchise to play some of the other games, but I’ve noticed that there’s a large gap in releases.”
This question triggered a very passionate fan, who let’s say, may have had a slight overreaction, but I get their frustration.
“No, and it makes me mad. Because we were lied to. Blatantly lied to. I love Uncharted 4 dearly,” exclaimed the Redditor in question.
“But years ago, one of the executives had an interview where he said, (paraphrased): ‘There are a ton of ancient legends and lost treasures out there. As long as people want Uncharted, we’ll keep making them.’ That was between three and four,” the person continued.

“The fact that we were robbed of the series so young, when they originally planned to keep going, kills me. I remember reading that article and being filled with warmth, hope, and happiness. I fully stand by that we were lied to.”
I don’t know what interview is being referred to, but I’m sure it exists somewhere. Sadly, without names and an outlet, considering that it took place between Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (2011) and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (2016), it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.
That being said, after the recent Neil Druckmann tease, hopefully, we’ll get the announcement that we Uncharted fans have been waiting years for.
We’ll keep you posted should information on the long-awaited Uncharted 5 ever drop.
