Uncharted 2 named one of the greatest single-player experiences by fans

Especially in this day and age of live-service games packed with microtransactions, you can’t beat a good single-player campaign to immerse yourself in its world.

Whether it's the likes of God of War (2018), Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Red Dead Redemption 2 and more. Taking a break to play video games on your lonesome is always a nice change of pace.

On Reddit, gamers have been discussing their favourite single-player experiences and one game that came up for discussion is Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves from 2009, which in my opinion is the best game in that series and can be considered as a timeless classic. That being said, I think it's about time that Sony gave us a new Uncharted game on the PlayStation 5.

“What’s been your greatest single-player experience and why?” asked Redditor vgjdotgg.

“Uncharted 2 was probably the first game where I actually set out to fully beat a game, and I believe it was probably the first non-racing game I was interested in,” replied BlackBullsLA97. “At the start of Uncharted 2, I remember it immediately hooking me with Drake hanging off the bottom of the derailed train on a snowy mountain, classic stuff.”

“Uncharted 2 for me also. Those set pieces throughout the game were groundbreaking at the time and still hold up well,” agreed deegz10. “Absolutely agree...that mountain section with Tenzin and Nate, where they cannot understand each other, is probably one of gaming's greatest moments. Among Thieves is easily one of Naughty Dog’s top three games,” exclaimed Hasimo_Yamuchi.

Even today when playing the PlayStation 3 version, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves still holds up 14 years later. However, it looks even nicer as part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection which includes remasters of the original trilogy, and it’s playable on both PS4 and PS5.
