PS5 users are now being urged to grab a freebie to celebrate the end of the year, but it’s only available for a limited time.
It’s that time of year again where we all settle down for the holidays, and hopefully enjoy some much needed time switching off from the world.
As the holidays approach, Sony knows gamers want to know what it’s all about, and so the annual PlayStation Wrap-Up has launched.
Wrap-Up is basically PlayStation’s way of showing you how your year went. You get stats broken down like how many games you played throughout the year, what your top five games were, and other highlights such as the number of trophies you earned and the type of games you enjoyed the most.

What’s more, by completing your Wrap-Up for this year, you’ll unlock an exclusive avatar to use on your PlayStation profile. Obviously, this will only be available during the time you can view your Wrap-Up, so be sure to claim it while you can.

PlayStation Wrap-Up is Mortifying Some Fans
Many players are sharing their own recaps for 2025, showing what games they played and how much time they’d spent gaming on their PlayStation consoles.
“Had 126 hours. Played Trails In The Sky The 1st Chapter, Yakuza Kiwami and 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors,” reads one comment on the PS5 Reddit page.
“70 hours of Death Stranding, and 80 hours of Death Stranding 2. That's all I got,” reads another.
“1,463 hours played, and I spent way too much time playing Assassin's Creed Shadows (167 hours). And 13 platinums is a new high for me,” reads a third comment.
Although I don’t use my PS5 for much these days besides playing blu-rays, it got me curious to check out what my own 2025 stats are.
I just looked at my PlayStation Wrap-Up and it’s hilarious. I play most of my games on PC, so it lists a grand total of two games: Battlefield 6 (77 hours played) and Sonic: Frontiers (less than one hour played).
It doesn’t appear to include VR games asThief VR: Legacy of Shadow is not included for some reason, which I reviewed earlier this month.
As the month goes on, expect more wrap ups to occur across other platforms. Spotify Wrapped is the one that popularised it, but you’ll start seeing more like Steam Replay, YouTube Recap, Letterboxd Year In Review, and Twitch Recap in the coming weeks.
