The PlayStation 5’s store has quietly gained a handy new feature that could help you subtly save money.
I’m glad to see that Sony has been making an effort to upgrade the PlayStation Store in recent months.
It’s always been user-friendly, in my opinion, but that doesn’t mean it can’t benefit from some new bells and whistles from time to time.
First, user review ratings were added, then Sony decided to showcase the game’s lowest price in the last 30 days.

As spotted by ComicBook, a similar feature has since been implemented - and it’s the first to arrive in 2026.
This Will Make It Much Easier To Compare Price Changes
I’ll preface this by saying that the feature isn’t yet available on all versions of the store worldwide, so don’t worry if you can’t yet see it in action.
Sony must be in the process of rolling the feature out. It doesn’t exactly advertise these things.
Soon though, users should be able to see the price a game launched at.

How can that save you money? Well, it’s very simple. It’s much easier to see when something is a good deal or not.
If a game is listed on sale at, say, £44.99, it can be tricky to know whether that’s a bargain. Could it have launched at £69.99? Less? Was it only £49.99 before?
Sure, a quick online search may be able to provide you with some context, but it’s much more consumer friendly if that information is written directly in front of you.
If a game’s launch price, current price, and cheapest price are all available on the page, it should result in better judgments from consumers, and I’m personally all for that.
What I’d personally like to see next is a move made to cut back on the number of AI slop releases plaguing the store which prey on vulnerable consumers.
It’s a problem across storefronts of every platform, not just PlayStation.
Steam is one such storefront that’s begun deleting AI slopware en masse, but it’s a problem that continues to plague today’s industry.
It’s been an interesting week for PlayStation.
Just a few days ago, the company confirmed the release date of Marvel’s Wolverine which we now know is landing on 15 September.
Why that wasn’t announced during the most recent State of Play, I don’t know. I said much the same of Horizon Hunters Gathering’s shock reveal.
We also, today, got our first glimpse at Prime Video’s upcoming God of War adaptation which, uh, looks pretty bad.
The still image shows Kratos and Atreus, with Atreus practicing his bow and arrow skills.
There’s a phoniness to the whole thing that makes it look more like a cosplay or spoof.
Hopefully, the series impresses when it actually drops a trailer.
