PlayStation fans have been flocking to the shops after an essential bit of kit saw its price get slashed in half.
Ever since Sony began jacking up the console fees ahead of the PS6, PlayStation hardware has been getting harder and harder to find at a reasonable price.
Even more so now that the console giant has started to phase out physical media and is only selling components like disc trays as optional add-ons.
These trays have been a revelation for fans who snapped up Slim consoles, especially with older, classic games becoming popular again and physical copies getting backwards compatibility.

So, it comes as no surprise that US gamers have been charging to Walmart after one person revealed that the popular supermarket was shilling out on the drives in a clearance sale.
When they first came out, finally giving players a chance to use their old PS4 discs and reviving franchises like Red Dead Redemption, getting your hands on a PS5 disc drive was almost impossible.
Now, they are appearing in clearance sales after failing to sell at their $100 MRSP, as one Redditor posted a half-price sale in Walmart.
"Went to my local Walmart and decided to walk by the clearance section in the electronics. And to my surprise, I found the disc drive attachment on rollback, been holding off on buying one for my special 30th anniversary edition,” they said.
"Didn’t wanna pay almost $100 MSRP. But they had a bunch of them on sale, can’t believe it, but honestly.
“Sony should’ve never made the slim model this way. But worth checking out your local store!”
The deal stunned people in the comments, who implored the original poster to snap them up just 'because', due to how good the deal was.
It might be prudent to heed that advice, knowing that the PlayStation 6 is on its way.
The $1,000 consoles will undoubtedly continue the trend of digitalisation.
Leaked specifications for the PlayStation 6 suggest that it will be as powerful as the top-range PCs, but there is no indication that the console will have a disc tray.
It's not incomprehensible that your disc tray could become compatible with the PS6 hardware, in which case, a $50 price tag is the bargain of the century - especially with backwards compatibility confirmed for both PS5 and PS4 games.
So, touch grass, walk to Walmart, and head back with a spring in your step knowing that you got the best PlayStation hardware deal in years.
