PlayStation gamers are only just discovering they’ve actually got a load of unused store credit.
The weekend is upon us, and you might want to kick off your shoes and pick up a new game to play this weekend.
With the PlayStation Days of Play sale now ongoing, there are thousands of games on offer to grab at a discounted price, so it’s a good time to start browsing the store.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Stars users might have some unused store credit pending in your account, especially if you haven’t touched the rewards scheme since it went live a few years back.
Reddit user Sleepless_Bird discovered that for themselves this week, according to a post they made on the PlayStation Stars Reddit page.
“I completely missed that PS Stars existed until I read on the news that they're about to be cancelled. So I had a look in the app and holy cow!
“I redeemed all my points for wallet funding and what can I say? We won't be spending money on games for a while! For context: we had 180k stars.”

The exchange rate of PlayStation Stars points is relative to your own country’s currency. In most cases, it’s 10 points per GBP / EUR / USD, so buying a game for £50 will reward you with 500 points.
Then, you use those points to buy back wallet credit. With 180,000 points, you could roughly get about £700 worth of wallet credit for the PlayStation Store.
“180k stars, amazing, I had like 6k and was happy with that... You’re probably the reason they shut it down,” joked one comment in the replies.
“With that amount of points, is there actually anything left on the PS Store for you to buy?” wrote another comment.

PlayStation Stars will be shutting down later this year, so if you’re an active user of the service it’s worth checking if you have any points leftover to redeem.
